Why can't we have more phones like the DORO Phone-easy

Working for Orange ive found that the elderly and disabled always prefer the clam shell handset, with the big buttons, loud ringtone accompanied with an explanation on how to do a text message. So why is it so difficult for manufacturers to build and promote such handsets? Its simply because companies like HTC, LG, Nokia and Apple have all jumped on the band wagon and state that 'smart-phones are the only handsets worth developing because people are likely to buy the most up-to-date and expensive phone'. Well their wrong, and i have proof....... well not so much proof, but more of an opinion. The majority of customers come into our store saying 'my phones is too complicated, its breaks to easily and i can find the feckn 'end-call' button', give me a phone that doesn't make me commit an act of violence. Well heres the DORO!

What does it have?

▪ A shockingly large but not too large keypad with spaced out keys.

▪ A Large, very colour friendly screen.
▪ User friendly interface for easy navigation around the software
▪ Extra large 30+ volume

All the other features of the handset work as normal, but just far more simplified, which is why the handset will sell like wildfire! Its not generally relevant to the phones features but i like the fact that in the box is a huge user manual for those find mobile technology very difficult to use, which i though was quite smart.
Another feature that is very handy for the elderly and disabled is on the back of the phones there is one large button that allows the user to text a pre-programmed message alert automatically to around 10 pre-determined contacts if they have a fall or problem. so far there has been very large amount of interest with this phone from relatives of elderly people whom are extremely interested in buying it to help aid them in their daily tasks.

The phone retails for around £99 with a £10 topup (thats in ireland and UK anyway). I would highly reccommend it for your grandparents.
